Story: Using our Common Sense (Extract)
At three o clock, the school bell rang, and Jay couldn't get out fast enough. He would run to the sweet shop and hopefully be quick enough that he wouldn't miss his bus. The sun was shining now, and he could play outside when he got home. As he ran, he grew hotter and hotter, and then suddenly, he caught one foot on the back of the other flip-flop. Over he went, flying straight into one of the other mums from the school.
"Goodness me," she said, "are you okay?"
Thankfully Jay was okay. He just felt embarrassed.
"You probably should take that coat off. You look like a beetroot!"
With no time to buy sweets, Jay removed the coat and walked slowly to the bus stop.
