Story: Remembrance Day Story (Extract)

"After Word War 1, in the Flanders Fields where some of the worst fighting took place, poppies grew everywhere like their own carpet of remembrance. In 1919, King George V decided to introduce this special day to remember. And the poppies seemed like the perfect way to do that."

"So, my great uncle is a famous hero. Wow!"

"Yes, he is. Tomorrow I will take you up to the cenotaph, and you will see his name engraved there."

"So, am I named after him?" asked Robert.

"Yes, you are, and so is your father. My mother gave me Robert as a middle name, but I chose to give it to your father as a first name, and then he did the same for you. My brother will never be forgotten."

"We will remember, Grandpa. We will remember."
