Story: The Patron Saint of Scotland (Extract)

A long, long time ago, in a land far, far away, there lived a man named Andrew. Andrew was a fisherman and loved nothing more than spending his days out on the water with his brother Simon Peter, catching fish and enjoying the salty sea air.

One day, while the brothers were out fishing, they saw a man walking along the shore. As the man approached them, Andrew realised it was Jesus, the son of God, who he had heard many people talking about.

Jesus greeted the brothers with kindness and said, "Follow me, and I will make you a fisher of men."

Andrew knew that he had found something special in Jesus and wanted to learn everything he could from him. Jesus chose Andrew and Simon Peter to become two of his twelve disciples. Andrew travelled with Jesus for many years, listening to his teachings and watching him perform miracles. Andrew saw Jesus heal the sick, feed the hungry, and calm the storms of the sea.

One day, as they travelled together, Jesus and his disciples came across a large crowd of hungry people. Andrew spotted a young boy who had brought five loaves of bread and two fish, and he brought the boy to Jesus.
