Story: The Story of St David (Extract)
From a young age, Dewi was known for his kindness, love of people and animals, and deep faith in God. He would often spend hours in prayer and meditation.
As he grew older, Dewi felt the calling to become a priest and went to a nearby monastery to study with the monks who lived there. He learned about the teachings of Jesus and the ways of the Christian faith and soon became known as one of the most gifted young men in the monastery.
One day, as Dewi was walking through the countryside, he came across a group of people gathered by a river, trying to catch fish. Dewi noticed that they were using old and torn nets, and he wanted to help them. He took out his fishing net and gave it to them, saying,
"May this net bring you a bountiful catch and fill your bellies with food."
After this act of kindness, Dewi became known as a healer, a helper, and a friend to anyone in need.
